Step Inside One of Our Favorite Transformations

Some projects stay with us long after install day—and this den is one we still think about often.

When our clients purchased this home last year, the previous owners were using the den as a home office. Beautiful light streamed through the windows, and the fireplace anchored the room, yet the layout and purpose were not conducive to our clients' needs.

Our clients’ goal was to reclaim the room and give it intention again. They envisioned a den that felt cozy and layered, a place for unwinding, gathering, and enjoying quieter moments at home. It needed to feel moody yet welcoming, elevated but deeply livable.

We began by rethinking how the room functioned, ensuring each zone felt purposeful. From there, we leaned into warmth and depth—wrapping the space in rich, saturated color, drawing the eye upward with a dark ceiling and a sculptural light fixture, and introducing furnishings that encouraged conversation and comfort. Layered textiles, meaningful art, and a collected mix of pieces helped the room feel personal and grounded.

One of the most meaningful shifts was transforming the den into a place centered around connection and creativity. The piano found its home here, we installed shelves just below the ceiling to showcase our clients' love for reading, and seating now invites you to linger, whether for music, conversation, or a quiet evening by lamplight.

What was once a room that felt busy and was more home office than haven is now a true retreat: intimate, thoughtful, and fully aligned with how the family lives. A few months later, it’s still a space that draws people in and reminds us how powerful it can be when a room finally feels like it belongs.

It’s proof that the most memorable before & afters aren’t just about aesthetics, but about creating spaces that change how you experience home.
