Behind the Scenes at Emerald Studio: A Peek Into Our Design Process

There’s a lot that happens between that first spark of inspiration and the final reveal. Every project starts with a deep understanding of how our clients want to live — the rhythm of their days, the light that fills their rooms, the pieces they cherish most. From there, we translate those stories into spaces that feel both personal and effortless.

A typical week for us might include an early morning site visit to check on custom cabinetry, a stop by one of our favorite local showrooms to source the perfect marble slab, and a few hours in the studio refining furniture layouts or testing fabric pairings under natural light. The process is equal parts creativity and coordination — hundreds of decisions that come together to make a space feel cohesive, balanced, and alive.

When installation day finally arrives, that’s where the magic happens. Art is hung, pillows are fluffed, florals are placed, and every item finds its home. Those finishing touches may seem small, but they’re what give a project its soul — the subtle layering of texture, color, and emotion that makes a room feel lived in from the start.

Our work may look seamless in photos, but behind the scenes, it’s a collaboration of many hands and thoughtful moments — all driven by one goal: creating spaces that feel deeply connected to the people who live in them.

One of my favorite parts of this work is how each day looks a little different. Some are spent knee-deep in job sites, others in the studio pairing fabrics and finishes, reviewing cabinetry drawings, or out sourcing that perfect vintage piece that ties a space together. It’s this mix —the creative and the technical, the big-picture vision and the tiny details — that keeps design endlessly inspiring.
